In the industry there are duplicate names for Mexican Beach Pebbles, La Paz, and San Quintin, both are the same material, harvested from the Pacific Coast of Baja California, Mexico.
These hand-harvested beach pebbles from Baja California are versatile stones used in concrete patios, ground cover in planter-bed and container gardens, dry creek effects, contemporary design borders, and many other applications. The most common characteristic of these beach pebbles is the smooth surface and fairly uniform size in each sorted group.
These and all other Mexican beach pebbles are sorted in sizes that range from 1/4" (
Criva ) to 12 inches. The stones are sorted into color groups of Black-grey, Red, Buff, and Mixed Colors.
The terra-cotta or orange-red stones are called Baja Sunburst Pebbles.
Shipments of beach pebbles that are going to residential delivery locations usually have to be shipped in 2,000-pound units in order to be unloaded from the delivery truck with a lift gate. If you have a forklift on the site then 3,000-pound units can often be shipped.
Your best price will come from buying the Mexican Beach pebbles in 3,000 units, which is how the stone arrives to us from Mexico.

Tons vs. Yards and Square Feet. In most cases, we charge by the ton and we have the receipts from the scale house at the quarry to show upon request. Materials sold by the yard tend to have very inaccurate amounts in the trucks. Amounts depend on the size of the loader bucket, how well the material was scooped up, and who was supervising the loading of the truck. Scale House totals don't lie, so why take a chance on losing money and time with how many square feet, scoops, skips, and or dumps were made in loading the truck? Architects, public agencies, contractors, and owner-builders requiring a competitive bid for the materials and transport costs should E-mail us with material specifications, the amount and date needed, and the buyer's contact information. We typically employ trucks with carrying capacities ranging from 17 to 26.5 tons. Decomposed granite, crushed rock, gravel, sand, and similar materials are typically hauled in; Truck n Transfers from 24 to 26.5 tons, End-dumps from 24 to 25 tons Bottom and Side Dumps 25 tons Super-10's from 10 to 17 tons

Product Specifications and Uses
Mexican Beach cobbles, pebbles, and crivea are used in a variety of large commercial landscape and hardscape projects, such as hospitals, hotels, resorts, high-rise buildings, municipalities, and airports. In residential landscapes and hardscapes, beach pebbles are used for small projects (such as planters and flower beds), large projects (such as driveways, walls, patios, decks, tree circles, and water-smart gardens), and everything else in condos, designer homes, and elaborate mansions.
The smooth surface makes Mexican beach pebbles ideal for ground covering, walkways, driveways, outdoor and indoor planters, dry river beds, and ponds. Mexican beach pebbles are also excellent for water features. Mexican beach pebbles are a great solution for low-water landscaping. They provide a very elegant and practical solution, and an excellent alternative for grass.
